Edwin Fermin

Edwin found his passion for compliance while working for the City of Miami, Office of the Auditor General, between 2007 and 2011. During this time, he performed operational and compliance audits of City departments and component units, as well as outside organization that had contractual agreements with the City, for the purpose of conserving and protecting the City’s resources and interest. Edwin later worked for a public accounting firm for almost four years where he performed internal and external audits in the US and Latin America. In 2016, Edwin became the Chief Compliance Officer of a Registered Investment Advisor in Miami, Florida. He held this role until he joined Counterweight’s Registered Investment Advisor, TCWP, LLC, in March of 2022, as its Chief Compliance Officer where he is responsible for administering the firm’s compliance program.

Edwin completed a dual-degree program from Florida international University and received a BBA in Finance and a Bachelor of Accounting. He also earned the certification of Certified Public Accountant from the State of New Hampshire Board of Accountancy.

Edwin met his wife Estefania while in college and they have been together ever since. They currently have a small schnauzer named Alice who gets all of their attention. In his spare time, Edwin enjoys cycling, hiking, kayaking and finding the newest restaurants in town.
